Writing Articles - Get more out of your writing skills

Writing articles and posting them online is one way to generate traffic for your sites and your offers.  People are always looking for new information and your articles could be just what they are looking for.  


Where are you going to put your articles?  You could write blog posts and post them on your own blog first.  This gives you the first crack at getting web traffic.  Your blog needs to have new information on a consistent basis.  You don't want your site to sit online with no new content.  Come up with a schedule and add new information.  After you post your content on your blog, the next step could be to post a similar article on different article directories.


Article directories contain a lot of content on different subjects.  Why would you want your content there?  Web developers and people that are looking for content go there to get free content that they can share with their audience.  Just think about getting your content and links in front of a large audience without having to pay for it. The only way that this happens is if someone decides to republish your article.  This means that your article needs to be good enough for them to want to share it.  


Getting your articles into the article directories has become harder over the recent years.  They are requiring longer articles and they want better quality content.  Make sure that your content can pass the test and get in.  Some article directories use to instantly approve articles but that is pretty much a thing of the past.  So don't expect your article to get approved fast.  It might take days to get your content into the directory.  The thing to remember is that once you get in, you are in.  You don't know when you article will drive traffic.  It might be this month, or it could be next year.  You might log into your traffic accounts and see a spike in traffic.  


Make sure to think about the titles that you use for your articles.  You want to write articles that are keyword rich and have a high internet search count.  You can invest a little bit of time in doing keyword research.  


How can you get even more out of your articles?  Some of your articles are going to do well and get some traffic while others will just sit there online with no views.   Don't think that all is lost with that written content.  You could always take your articles and turn them into a new form of content.  Think about rewriting a few of your blog posts and turning them into a simple ebook that solves a problem.  You could also create audio podcasts using your articles as the basis of your talks.  Lastly, don't forget about making your own videos and sharing them online.  Your content could be great and all you need to do is give people multiple ways to consume it.


Make sure that you link all of your content back to your blogs and websites where you have to affiliate offers.
